Guaranteed Lunch

So here comes the quote of the day.  While Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday, yesterday I confessed to Liz that I wish it wasn't coming this year. I've been too busy working getting the dairy/cheese room ready, clearing land, turkey processing, CSA deliveries, etc., and just didn't want to have to stop working for half a day to help with food and, believe it or not, to take time to eat.

Liz responded, "well, the way I see it, it's guaranteed lunch".  I had to laugh!  Recently, we seem to never get lunch, and dinner has become a luxury. And so, turkeys are a cookin' and we're whipping up yummies, so I guess we'll enjoy lunch today.  And then back to non-stop work tomorrow.

Here's wishing that all of you have a truly wonderful Thanksgiving.

So glad you're taking time to smell the heritage turkey, Tim! Ours is in the oven now. Thank you for all the hard work that made it happen!

Tim & Liz -

As our heritage bird cooks in the oven (as I type), your post reminds me of all the hard work that you guys have put into the farm this year. While it is obviously your choice to farm, we really appreciate all your hard work and determination and we always look forward to a meal cooked with products from your farm. Olivia and I hope you have a great holiday and when you get a second, have a beer or 2 for me. ;-) Happy Thanksgiving!

Glad you took some time to enjoy the day. Rest is good for you. Heck, I get worn out just reading the posts.

If everyone would take a day and really "work" on a farm then they might appreciate farmers just a little bit more. There are summer evenings I get in after dark and I want to drop into bed (and we don't have one tenth as much going on here as your place! ) but won't cause hubby has been up since 5 AM (off farm job, insurance you know!) and he is home well after 5 PM each evening so he still deserves something to eat even if it is popped into that grand invention, the mircrowave!
Have a great, safe and happy 2010!

This place and these people are for real! What you see and read is actually the way it is. They work from can to can't to make this place work. They have made me realize that what you eat plays an important role in your overall health. Since i have become aquianted with Tim and his wife and their farm i have lost 35lbs and feel great. All their animals are free range and live in a natural enviroment unlike the crap in the grocery stores. Tim goes the extra expense to make sure his animals are chemical FREE. Just finished a dairy with cheese making capability. GOOD LUCK with that. These are super people who don't have to be doing this but they share it with us. Thank you Tim and Liz for motivating me.
